Afternoon Visit

My sister-in-law invited us over for a visit and some yummy Brazilian food, which was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! An added perk was getting the cousins together again. For about a half-hour period both boys were happy at the same time! We took some great pictures of the two little guys.
Hey cute babies, wave to your fans!

Hooray for cousins!

What a handsome pair!

Double the Blessings

My sister-in-law in Colorado had her first baby just eleven days before me. Her little boy was blessed last Sunday and the cousins met officially for the first time. What a blessing to have two little angels come to earth at the same time! I am grateful to have family so near by, especially when we are experiencing such similar seasons of life.

A Special Visitor

My mom came for a week visit earlier in the month and did all manner of wonderful, helpful things. She did the laundry, cleaned the entire apartment, made dinner every night we didn't have it brought in, and finished several sewing projects for me. Mom also made me an early birthday dinner, took me clothes shopping, and made a delicious apple pie from scratch. She shared her mommy wisdom based on much experience and was a great support in my new parent naivety. It is amazing what an extra pair of hands can accomplish!
And of course, she took to her relatively new role as grandma very well. Thanks for the helping hands; we love you!

And Baby Makes Three

The idea of a family blog has been talked about for quite awhile. We are a little slow, but are finally official. The stall came in part over what to call the blog. I won't bore you with the details, but I think one evening we brainstormed for about 2 1/2 hours. The "about" page gives a little of the background for the why of our blog name.
No promises on how consistently we will be posting here. We both intend to keep our personal blogs and have this new blog as a united front to post about all things family. It seems fitting to begin the blog with a picture and a word or two about our little one's first family constitutional. Our neighborhood and its environs is the perfect fit for our family. It is one of those blessings that we didn't realize we had until after we had moved in and gone exploring. The maze of pathways, native areas, and public recreation space in this area make for wonderful evening walks. Just a few days after bringing our little boy home, we were out making the rounds with the stroller as ridiculously proud new parents. Our sweet little boy promptly fell asleep and enchanted us with his contented cooing. I like to think it was his way of communicating his approval.
